Federal Tax Credits

Which Federal Tax Credits can you change for conditioners and air source heat pumps?

Air conditioners

  • Get back 30% of project costs, up to $600 dollars.
  • Split Systems should have a SEER2 greater than or equal to 16.
  • Packaged Systems need to have a SEER2 rating equal to or larger than 15.2 and an EER2* greater than or equal to 11.5 (includes gas and electric packaged units).
  • Air Conditioning Units should be ENERGY STAR certified**.
  • Systems need to be bought and put into operating conditions between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2032.

Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Claim 30% of the cost of the work completed, not to exceed $2,000.
  • Ducted Split Systems must have an HSPF2* (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor 2) of at least 7.8, an EER2 (Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) of at least 11.7, and a SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) of at least 15.2.
  • Systems that come packaged need to have a SEER2 of at least 15.2, HSPF2 of at least 7.2, and an EER2 of at least 10.6 (including gas/electric packaged units).
  • Install of the heat pump system or unit will be eligible if purchased and installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032.
